Two of the Trust's Allied Health Professions (AHP) staff have been shortlisted for a Chief Allied Health Professions Officer’s Award (CAHPO).

Claire McDonald and Louisa Ellis of the AHP education team have been shortlisted for the Creative Provision of Placements Award.

The criteria said: “Nominations are welcomed from AHP leaders, educators and/or students from health and social care or education(teams or individuals) who have helped change the face of AHP practice-based learning in the context of the challenges generated by the pandemic.”

Claire and Louisa created rotation placements to give students the opportunity to gain experience in physical and mental health teams.

Judges said they felt the entry was one of the strongest in the category.

The CAHPO Awards will be hosted virtually on the evening of Thursday 12 October.

Helen Lycett, Associate Director for Allied Health Professions at West London NHS Trust, said: “Congratulations to Claire and Louisa who have been shortlisted for a prestigious Chief Allied Health Professions Officer’s Award. I was on the Awards’ panel when I was on secondment to NHS England and I can say from personal experience that the standard of the nominations is always extremely high, so it’s fantastic that they’ve been shortlisted. We’re all behind you!”
