The essence of Christmas was certainly captured at a special festive event this week. Hosted in collaboration with Ealing Carers Partnership, Freya Farmer, a community psychiatric nurse (CPN) from Southall Mental Health Integrated Network Teams (MINT), and Carrie Scott, an Occupational Therapist within Perinatal Mental Health, a special Christmas celebration brought local carers together for a heartwarming Christmas gathering.
Held over an afternoon at The Dig, an outdoor support space for carers in West London, the event provided carers a chance to relax, connect, and recharge in a supportive outdoor setting and was a resounding success. One attendee commented that it “felt like such a Christmassy magical group.”
Carers enjoyed a warm and festive atmosphere with a variety of festive-themed activities. Including gingerbread decorating, bauble making, and wreath crafting, these creative projects brought out the carer’s artistic sides.
The day included a complimentary festive lunch, giving carers a chance to connect, share stories, and connect with others who understand the challenges and rewards of caregiving. This celebration reinforced the importance of recognising and supporting the invaluable contributions of carers.
More collaborative events are planned for next year, so keep an eye out for those.
