Hounslow Paediatric SLT AAC 1.jpgThe event took place at the Heart of Hounslow site and received some very positive engagement, with many staff members based at the site visiting the team. This included, GPs, adult services, health visiting, community nursing and many more.

Staff were offered free cake as long as they placed their order using any form of AAC.

The event sparked interesting conversations and lots of interest in how staff could potentially use AAC in their own services.

What is AAC?

AAC is a range of communication techniques and tools that are used by individuals who struggle to communicate clearly with speech. Some examples include communication books and boards, devices and Makaton signing. AAC helps someone to communicate as effectively as possible, in as many situations as possible.
