Following 'Anti-bullying Awareness Week', the Trust is launching a campaign to tackle bullying and harassment.
The ‘Kindness Counts’ poster campaign features messages that resonate with the Trusts core values ‘Togetherness, Responsibility, Excellence & Caring’.
The campaign features staff from across the Trust, sharing important messages with the aim of ensuring a kinder environment for staff and patients.
The campaign is the outcome of a Trust-wide Bullying, Harassment and Abuse project.
Nina Singh, Chief People Officer says:
“Bullying and harassment has no place in our Trust and is simply not acceptable. My hope is that the campaign along with the other measures being implemented helps to create a more respectful and safer environment for all of our staff and those they care for".
The project group took the latest data from the national NHS staff survey which showed a 33% increase in reporting of bullying, harassment and/or abuse from patients, relatives and the public within the NHS London region.
A number of focus groups were then under taken between November 2022- February 2023. A total of 90 staff participated in 8 focus groups and staff spoke of their experience of bullying and harassment in the work place.
The campaign is part of a six step action plan to tackle the issue with support and sponsorship from Trust Executives.
Look out for the 'Kindness Counts' campaign across Trust services this Winter.
