It’s that time of year again when we come together to recognise the shining stars in our Trust at the West London Excellence Awards 2024. We’re once again inviting our patients and service users to take part in the nomination process, celebrating the healthcare heroes who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in your life.
This award is especially meaningful because it comes directly from you—our patients and service users. Whether it's a nurse who has provided compassionate care, a doctor who has been your guiding light, or a support staff member who has lifted your spirits, your nomination can help us recognise their dedication and hard work.
Gillian Kelly, Chief Nurse for West London NHS Trust, said: “We need your help in recognising outstanding individuals who have made a difference in the lives of our patients and service users. This award is especially meaningful as it reflects external voices and celebrates those who have made an exceptional impact on those they care for.”

How to write a nomination
To help you craft a compelling nomination, here are our top three tips:
- Tell us why: Start by explaining why your nominee stands out. Describe in a few sentences what makes them exceptional and how they’ve made a significant impact on patient care.
- Provide evidence: Concrete evidence is key. Share specific examples of how your nominee has gone the extra mile.
- Give yourself plenty of time to prepare your nomination. Remember, all entries must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 6 September 2024.
Who can nominate?
Nominations can be made by service users or carers for individual staff members or teams who:
- Have made a real difference to the care received by one or more service users.
- Consistently demonstrate our Trust’s value of caring.
