The nomination was put forward by Hannah Parsons, Deputy Director of Finance and Manpareet Dhaliwal, Deputy Chief Finance Officer.
This year’s conference theme was ‘collaborate to innovate’ and the team demonstrated this well in their work. Here are some examples of how they have promoted ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ in Finance at the Trust and in North-West London (NWL).
Sharon and Mischa were nominated for the Diversity and Inclusion Award, specifically for the support Sharon has given to Project Choice students. Project Choice is a specialist programme for post-16 college students. The project offers young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities and/or autism, personalised, bespoke internships. Through the internship, 16 to 24 year olds gain work experience, develop skills to raise their confidence and increase their employment opportunities. The team have supported two placements from Project Choice. The project is also part of their wider contribution to the NWL Finance Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) group.
Mischa Bindley, Co-Chair of the NWL EDI group, has worked with colleagues to develop a NWL wide plan for EDI improvement, which increases visibility of the network and spotlights its work. They are due to present to NWL Chief Financial Officers (CFO) shortly with their action plan.
Karolina Wisniewski, Systems and Finance Analyst was nominated for ‘Star of the year.’ This award category is aimed at junior finance staff from bands two to six who have gone above and beyond to develop themselves and contribute to team improvement. Karolina was nominated for her contribution to the finance training materials and support given to our placement students.
Well done to all the team!
