Ealing Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Services have an exciting line-up of events planned for their first ever SLT awareness month.
The team and their partners have come together to create a month’s worth of activities aimed at raising awareness around SLT services for families with children aged under five.
The awareness month will be officially running from Monday 18 September to Wednesday 18 October and will offer special workshops, fun events, and an exciting musical extravaganza – all designed to get people talking about speech and language therapy.
If you want to know how you can help your child’s speech and language develop or just want to know what services are out there, be sure to check out one of our many workshops:
- How can I help my child’s speech and language development?
- Selective mutism, shy, quiet or anxious talkers
- How can I support my child’s social communication?
- How can I toilet train my child if they’re not talking?

The main event of the awareness month will be a special flash mob song and dance number in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.
The team will gather in Time Square outside Primark/Waterstones at 12.30pm on Wednesday 27 September. The more the merrier, so please come along and join in.
Ealing Children’s Centres are going to be supporting the awareness month by running themed stay-and-play sessions over the four weeks.
Meanwhile, there will also be a number of early start playful parenting taster sessions at three of the local children’s centres and an SLT advice drop in at the West London Islamic Centre.

Finally, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight the amazing Gruffalo Trail at Horsenden Farm and Ealing Toy Library.
