The RCPsych awards recognise some of the trailblazers in UK Psychiatry and this year we have colleagues shortlisted in two award categories - 'Psychiatric communicator of the year' and 'Psychiatrist of the year.'
Congratulations to the team, led by Dr Lindsay Dewa, who have worked on the Nexus Film Project and to Dr Suhana Ahmed, Clinical Director for Older People's Mental Health Services.
Dr Derek Tracy, Trust Medical Director, responded to the news of the shortlisted nominations by saying:
"The national RCPsych awards are the pinnacle of best practice in UK psychiatry, and it is a huge honour to be shortlisted for these highly contested accolades. I’m delighted that Nexus our collaboration with Imperial College has been shortlisted for the 'Psychiatric communicator of the year' category. The short film was co-produced with young people shining a spotlight on their mental health during the pandemic".
"I'm so pleased that Dr Suhana Ahmed, Clinical Director for Older People’s Mental Health Services, has been shortlisted for one of the most prestigious RCPsych awards in the UK’s Psychiatrist of the Year category - well done Suhana".
We all wish both nominations the very best for the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Royal College of Psychiatrists in November.
