Almost 300 West London NHS Trust staff descended on The Clayton Hotel in Chiswick on Wednesday 1 November for the annual Quality Awards.

The theme this year was The Great Gatsby, with staff stepping out in their best 1920s inspired suits and dresses.

Despite London taking a thrashing from Storm Ciarán, the wet weather did little to dampen the spirits of staff as they celebrated in style.

In a year that's seen tremendous pressure on NHS staff, the awards provided a chance for staff to come together and recognise those who go above and beyond in their roles.

The Trust is extremely proud of its diverse workforce and it was great to see so many staff from different services and backgrounds joining one another to reflect on the last 12 months whilst looking forward to the future.

There was also toe-tapping music from a jazz band, creating a scene, F Scott Fitzgerald himself, might imagine.

The fun didn't stop there, as the event saw the return of its glitter artists, dazzling staff with an array of colours, whilst they stepped into frame in one of our photo booths.

This year's event was particularly poignant as we bid goodbye to our CEO of eight years, Carolyn Regan CBE, who will be retiring from her position at the end of the year.

Carolyn presented the ceremony and said: “What a fantastic event with over 650 nominations and some fantastic examples of the best work we do. I’m delighted to host such a sparkling event enjoyed by more than 300 members of staff. Many congratulations to all the winners. I’m sorry I won’t be here next year but have enjoyed each and every celebration with the Trust and wish you all the best for the future.”

We also bid farewell to our interim Chair, Elizabeth Rantzen, who took over from Tom Hayhoe after he announced his retirement earlier this year.

Earlier this week the Trust welcomed its incoming Chair Tom Kibasi, who will be starting his new post as of Wednesday 13 November.

It was great to welcome him on the night as well as some of our partners from neighbouring Trusts, local authorities and third sector organisations.

The night came to a close in Trust West London fashion, with tables and chairs being cleared to make way for a glitzy dancehall.

Thanks to everyone who attended and supported this year's event, we're particularly grateful for our stakeholders, and our dedicated and amazing volunteers, without whom the evening would not have happened.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
