We're thrilled to share that David Cochrane, Head of Forensic Social Work at West London NHS Trust, received his MBE at Windsor Castle from His Majesty The King. David was awarded the MBE earlier this year in recognition of his commitment to his patients while working in Forensic and High Secure Services - one of the most challenging and complex NHS environments.

The patient and carer experience has always been at the forefront of his work and has made notable contributions to the leadership of these services. He’s always had a keen eye on the evaluation of care, human factors/ergonomics, and learning lessons. Quality improvement, social supervision, and compliance with the Mental Health Act (MHA) Code of Practice are particular areas where David has made a significant and consistent contribution over his 30 years.

He said: “I'm delighted to have received an MBE from His Majesty The King during an investiture ceremony at Windsor last Tuesday. This recognition is a testament to the collective dedication and hard work of our entire team in the field of Forensic Mental Health Social Work.

"During a brief conversation with His Majesty, we discussed the significance of our work in Mental Health Social Work, highlighting our contributions to the rehabilitation of patients."

Congratulations, David!
