Maria_Vittoria_Capanna_1_1.jpgDr Mavi Capanna, a West London NHS Trust psychiatrist has received a British Medical Association (BMA) award in recognition of her outstanding service to the profession.

Mavi, a Darzi Fellow, received the BMA Impact Award recently in a ceremony, “in recognition of outstanding service to the Association and the profession of medicine and as a mark of the high esteem in which you are held by BMA members and staff.”

The award goes to BMA members who “have given exceptional commitment and have demonstrated a tangible beneficial impact for members of the British Medical Association.”

Posting to her LinkedIn page following the news, Mavi said: 
“Honoured to have received the BMA Impact Award as a culmination of years of work focussing on improving mental health stigma and wellbeing for doctors. A proud day!”

Mavi has held a number of positions regionally and nationally in the BMA and Health Education England. She is passionate about promoting wellbeing and safe working conditions for doctors and patients, and is committed to tackling stigma around mental health. 

We are proud of her, and her achievements.
