How we work

Assessment is the first stage in treatment. We use your time on an assessment ward to understand more about you and your problems so we can work with you to plan your care.

On an assessment ward you will be treated for a short period of time, after which you will either be discharged and continue your care in the community, or you will move to a recovery ward to continue your treatment in hospital.

We help patients to build up your coping skills so that they can continue to lead a meaningful life when they leave hospital. We provide you lots of support and encouragement to allow people to move forward, look beyond the limits of their mental health issues and set goals for the future.
